I grew up sewing and doing needle work. I enjoy all manner of arts and crafts, working with my hands and cobbling things together, sometimes using traditional techniques in a new application. Over the years, I have wandered through drawing and painting, using graphite, charcoal, pen and ink and pastels, mosaics, caning chairs and yarn graffiti. The idea for Dressed Rocks is an extension of the “knitted landscape” – adding something to the landscape to change the image. My rocks will bring a surprise of color to your bookshelf, desk or garden, highlighting the contrast between the natural and the handmade. Delight a friend by leaving one surreptitiously in their house or garden – discovering it will bring a smile to their face. Each “sweater” is an original, hand crocheted to suit the size and shape of the rock.
