Townhall Arts/Galerie Copper

This is a wonderful destination in Copper Town Square. Peruse the gallery of diverse and talented local artists, purchase your art supplies, choose from a large variety of top-notch classes and have your personal work or purchased painting framed and mounted. If you are an foothill artist, this is a must see. Contact owners Susie or Larry Hoffman at 209-728-2050 or visit Townhall Arts online to join the mailing list and for a calendar of events.

Petroglyphe Gallery, Fine Art Gallery in Moke Hill

Petroglyphe Gallery is located at 8317 Main Street in Mokelumne Hill. Exhibiting artists, who are from throughout California, were personally-selected by owners Denise Ebbett and Marisa Chaffey following months of travel and research for quality and uniqueness.  Jewelry artists number 12 currently and more are expected. A variety of art cards are also offered.

Visitors will be impressed not only with the art, but with how the owners have painstakingly transformed both inside and out, the large space that has seen many uses since 1858.  It still has wainscoting, tall ceilings, but the floors, walls and the design features of the room are of contemporary sleekness. Many events are planned to keep the gallery a center for arts activities, including demonstrations by exhibiting artists, art receptions featuring local musicians, wine tasting, and as the seasons change, holiday surprises.

Petroplyphe Gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday 11:30 am to 5:30 pm; Sunday 11:30 am to 4:00 pm.  Phone 209-287-1387 or visit www.gallerypetroglyphe.com
