I create interesting, original, and FUN adornments for those who view their ornamental choices as intrinsic to their persona expression. My designing intention is to enhance the sense of the individual, and to diminish the mundane and pervasive generic of big box-hood.
My undergraduate Fine Art degree is in painting, and I now consider my tempting bits of glass (created from melting rods of Italian glass), as little paintings. I combine these one of a kind components with fabulous natural gemstones, pearls, or whatever interests my eye, to build wondrous adornments with the intent of enhancing the wearer's personal story. If they are drawn to my work, then part of their story must be FUN!
My jewelry career began in Arizona, years after the painting, in a metal smithing class at Yavapai College. However, several years later the temptation of color in melting glass drew me away from melting metal, and now I am forging these two efforts into a new body of work. Arizona also introduced me to the abundant array of choices in the natural world of semi-precious, and non precious stones and pearls that I love to integrate with the glass and metal. I also appreciate the stones for their own beauty, and use a lot of them strictly on their own merits.
I have been exhibiting my work at Art and Wine shows up and down the West Coast for 12 years, from Santa Monica, California to Bellevue, Washington, and many locations in-between.
