I like
to paint Northern California because it is home. I come
from a pioneer family that has been here for four
generations. I often paint wearing my grandmother's old
denim fruit canning apron and stand under the oak trees
outside my studio. California is what I know and |
|
understand. My subjects
are from California landscape and nature. I take a lot of photos of the
foothills and high Sierra mountains for reference so I can continue to paint
indoors in the winter.
Typically my abstracts are colorful with an underlying floral or
landscape quality. They have a lot of movement and rhythm that keeps the viewer
engaged. Some elements tease the eye with being almost recognizable. |

become
lost in and enjoy looking at it again and again."
