Marilyn Thomas Hinsdale

Marilyn began doing sketches of classmates while in grammar school.  While attending high school in Stockton, California she did publicity drawings for the drama department including a portrait of Pat Corley (Phil on Murphy Brown).  She was an art major at San Jose State University, and completed a degree at UOP in Stockton.

Marilyn’s early career was as a portrait artist, working in oil, pastels, & prismacolor pencils.  Since 2002 she has been focused on detailed watercolor paintings of subjects of her choosing from a variety of sources.  In 2003 she entered her first art show and won six ribbons including a best of division for watercolor.

Marilyn’s paintings can be seen at the Senior Center in San Andreas and at Victoria’s Framing in Angels Camp where framed prints are available.

She is a member of “The Gallery Group” in Calaveras County and participates in the Annual Studio Tour the last weekend in September.

Marilyn invites you to enjoy some of her favorite paintings.
