Marilyn
began doing sketches of classmates while in grammar school. While
attending high school in Stockton, California she did publicity drawings
for the drama department including a portrait of Pat Corley (Phil on
Murphy Brown). She was an art major at San Jose State University, and
completed a degree at UOP in Stockton.
Marilyn’s
early career was as a portrait artist, working in oil, pastels, &
prismacolor pencils. Since 2002 she has been focused on detailed
watercolor paintings of subjects of her choosing from a variety of
sources. In 2003 she entered her first art show and won six ribbons
including a best of division for watercolor.
Marilyn’s
paintings can be seen at the Senior Center in San Andreas and at
Victoria’s Framing in Angels Camp where framed prints are available. |
