The Calaveras County Arts Council invites you to participate in the Calaveras Artists Studio Tours, which takes place over the third weekend in September each year, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. 2021 dates are September 18-19.
Artists Studio Tours (AST) allows art collectors to meet artists throughout the county. The tour is free to the public, and visitors create their own self-guided tour using the printed or downloadable brochure with maps of each artist location.
Artists Studio Tours gives artists the opportunity to share their artwork, meet collectors face-to-face, develop relationships with new customers, make sales, secure commissions and share their artistic process and vision with visitors. It's a chance to let others to meet you and see your art in a personal setting.
We provide robust marketing for this event, with a high-quality printed brochure with maps, press releases, links to your website or social media on our AST website, and one social media post on Facebook and Instagram per artist during the month before the event to help get your artwork and studio noticed.
Benefits to participating artists:
You may host the event in your own home or studio. Or you may gather in a location with other artists. It's more fun with multiple artists and visitors like seeing multiple artists at each site. If you are hosting an Open Studio, limit the exhibition to your own work and the work of other Open Studio participating artists. All participating artists must pay the application fee; please do not invite artists who have not payed the application fee.
We look forward to your participation in this event, and we will do all we can do to help you make it a successful weekend.
Artists don't have to be from Calaveras County, but your studio tour site MUST be in Calaveras County.
