Sharon Rubenstein hand wraps copper wire into intricate shapes that highlight the semi-precious stones at the center of her designs.


"I purchased this ocean jasper because it reminded me of looking into outer space and seeing planets. Ocean jasper was mined in one place in the world, Madagasgar. The mine is no longer producing any ocean jasper and it must be obtained from private collectors."


Length of necklace: 24 inches; Length of pendant: 2 inches, width 1 inch.

The Calaveras County Arts Council is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation.  Founded in 1981, our purpose is to coordinate excellence in the presenting and promotion of the visual and performing arts of all cultures for artists, residents and visitors.  Our staff is comprised of an executive director, a consultant grant writer, and a part-time assistant under the direction of an 11-member volunteer Board of Directors.  FIN 94-2779793
