Call for Artists

Artists of all disciplines who live in Amador and Calaveras Counties, or are customers of East Bay Municipal Utility District, are invited to submit qualifications and samples of work for a chance to participate in a project called “River Reflections.”  

Selected Artists will be invited to create work inspired by the Mokelumne River, and they will have until December 1st to do so. Visual artists - in both two and three dimensional genres- dancers, musicians, composers, actors, literary, and video artists are encouraged to discover the application details on Amador Arts Council's website.   

“River Reflections”  - A “Creative California Communities” Project funded by the California Arts Council, implemented by AmadorArts, in partnership with Calaveras County Arts Council, the Foothill Conservancy, and East Bay Municipal Utility District.

Chairs for Charity is a joint fundraiser for Soroptimist International of Calaveras County and the Calaveras Arts Council.

Chairs is about transforming a chair, stool, bench or "a place to sit" into a work of art.  Professional artists and community groups receive 40% of the auction price.

Donations Accepted Any Time

Non profits are still operating in hard times. The Calaveras Arts Council is feeling the pinch due to downturn in contributions, donations, and memberships. You can help us support, nourish, and awaken the arts by making an end of year, tax deductible contribution. Click on "How to Donate" for more information. 

Donations do not have to be about money. 

If you have an unwanted office supplies, we can really use it. Also, donations can be about time too. If you have time to share, please consider volunteering at arts council events like Music in the Parks, Ovations, Gallery Calaveras, Home Concerts, Membership Dinners and more.

Make your regular trip to the market a contribution to the arts.
