Ovations Performing Arts Series 2012
Review . . .
Boyz Nite Out entertains with high spirits at the Calaveras Arts Council Ovations Concert Series, presented at the Dr. Elliott Smart Performing Arts Center (Bret Harte Theater) in Angels Camp on Sunday, Jan 22.
The group's luscious harmonies, precise
rhythmic arrangements and delightful melodies resonated with listeners in a program of "oldies but goodies" that included amazingly realistic man-made "instrument" sounds, humorous audience participation, and an enthusiastic conga line which wound around the auditorium. Above, unsuspecting audience member Edy Brown appears on stage with the band, presented as a "former high school buddy " of band member Bud Anderson. She was serenaded with "Ride, Edy, Ride" and gamely participated with appropriate car-driving hand movements. This photo was taken at the impromptu request of band member Bud by another unsuspecting, unprepared audience member. Below, Edy and the band meet again in the lobby of the theater after the concert.
