The Calaveras County Arts Council organizes thematic exhibitions to promote artistic excellence and to showcase work by members and artists throughout the Motherlode.
All 2-D artwork must be original work by the exhibiting artist, or if a print, the original work must have been created by exhibiting artist. Reference materials must belong to the artist, or the artist must have permission to use them.
During exhibitions, we encourage art sales in our gallery on Main Street in San Andreas. Artists are free to keep 70% of any sales; the gallery portion (30%) of the proceeds are used to promote arts in Calaveras County.
All artwork must be ready to hang; please use wire and D-rings (see link below for instructions) when possible or appropriate. Please label all art work on the back with the name of the artist; the title of the art; contact information; and the price.
All art must be hand-delivered to the gallery. No shipped work will be accepted.
Love Makes the World go round
Start 2020 with love. Bring in art that explores and celebrates love. Love of life. Love of one special person. Love of animals. Love of family. Love of community. Love of state, country, planet, or even just love of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Let art help love fight hate, and make the world go 'round.
