“AnimalScapes of the Sierra Nevada Foothills” is an art show featuring artists from 3 counties, who were asked to interpret and create a piece inspired by our Sierra foothills and it’s many diverse animal inhabitants. Paintings, photography, poetry, sculpture and more will be on display.
The Calaveras County Arts Council would like to thank the Project Partners Amador County Arts Council, Tuolumne Arts Alliance, The Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), and the California Department of Fish & Wildlife (CDFW) for their exceptional donation of time and resources. “AnimalScapes of the Sierra Nevada Foothills” received partial funding through a California State Arts Council grant, and would not have been possible without the additional generous donations of our art and nature loving public including the following sponsors: Arnold Pet Clinic Black Oak Casino Mary Jo Brereton Calaveras Community Foundation Feed Barn Country Store Hotel Sutter Ironstone Vineyards Richard & Margaret Mills John & Michele Rugo Sonora Area Foundation Mary Spitzer Tri County Wildlife Care Representatives of Tri County Wildlife Care will be on hand with a few of their rescued raptors (owls and hawks) at both the Ironstone Winery and Hotel Sutter receptions. Their awe inspiring beauty and individual personalities leave a lasting message of the importance of wildlife preservation.
