Ovations 2011 season brought forth five wonderful performances. From Classical to Americana music, sweet ballet to Scottish dance. With this, and thanks to the Calaveras Community Foundation, we were able to bring the history of the highlands to two local schools by means of the Dunsmuir Scottish Dancers. Elementary schools, Mark Twain and Copperopolis, held school assemblies where the students experienced close up and personal Scottish dance, learned a bit about the history of the dance and culture of that county. These assemblies would not have happened without the generous grant we received from the Calaveras Community Foundation.
Ovations Committee
The Ovations Committee is at work year round planning and organizing this concert series. We eagerly welcome ideas and energy from new people. If you would like to join the monthly meetings, which are normally held on a weekday during lunch, please call the Arts Council at 209.754.1774.
