Advertise your studio tour!
Of course, you don’t have to follow these or any other suggestions. Find what works for you, and share those ideas!
- Distribute brochures to your mailing list, to your friends, to your family, to groups you belong to. Some artists include discount cards for their collectors/admirers to encourage them to visit. If you need more brochures, contact Maggie at ccacinbox@gmail.com
- Think about adding a discount coupon to the brochures that you mail to encourage collectors to visit your studio.
- Talk about your studio tour on your social media account. The Arts Council uses Facebook and Instagram to advertise the studio tour, and amplifies the accounts of artists who are active on social media. Read this article to find how social media can help widen your art-loving network and sales:
- Plan how you’ll welcome visitors to your studio or site. Some artists make their studios into an interactive experience. Some artists make a grand entrance, or have a garden party. Other artists make visitors feel like they've come home. Many artists serve snack food and drinks or have music playing to encourage lingering.
- Most of all, be prepared to engage with your collectors, talk,listen and have fun! Read this article about how to increase person-to-person sales
