Pamela Quyle
Pamela Quyle spent her childhood surrounded by artists and craftsmen. Her folks taught fine art and craft classes—painting, pottery , leather work, metal work, weaving, jewelry, letter press printing, and photography— in Stockton until they moved to the family lands in Murphys in 1954.
Pamela left Calaveras County to explore the rest of the world and worked in radio and television in San Jose and San Francisco. She continued her fine arts education during those years taking classes in sculpture and painting. She returned to the family property in the mid 80's to take over the day to day management of the family pottery . She has been managing the pottery, blacksmith shop, and the clay manufacturing end of the business .
She produces about 2000 pieces of high-quality functional and artistic ceramics yearly. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and craft with the public, and recently she expanded the business to include pottery and sculpture classes.
