Calaveras County Arts Council Honors 100 Years of Service

Artist Reception:

Sunday, October 1, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
22 North Main Street, San Andreas

Service. Struggle. Strength.

Honor. Dignity.

Homecoming.

Those words mean the world to those who serve our country.

This show is part of the ❤️Art Beats for Veterans project, and seeks to honor the men and women of Calaveras County who have heeded those words for a hundred years.
Over the last year, we've been staging vignettes of Veterans homecomings on the staircase in the back of our gallery. Artists have come to photograph, paint, draw, or simply absorb scenes of live models portraying mothers, fathers, children, and sweethearts welcoming home their veterans. Artists all over the county have been been busy creating artwork on these themes.

Now this work will be coming to the gallery, and this week our volunteer crew will be hanging the show, and on Sunday we'll have the opening reception.

Art does not have to be of the Vignette scenes; anything at honors our Veterans will be lovingly accepted.

The reception is free to attend.

A Night at the USO

We still have tickets to our gala fundraiser in San Andreas, a Night at the USO, with Blow Daddy playing music, "meat and 'taters" dinner, and a dessert auction.

You can buy tickets at the gallery on 22 North Main Street in San Andreas, or at 209.754-1774.

Tickets for Night at the USO: $25 in advance/$30 at the door.
